Ernesto "Che" Guevara (1928-1967) was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist. As the main representative of the Cuban revolutionary government, he headed several delegations to Latin America, United States, Asia and Africa. He was given the nickname "Che", a popular form of address in Argentina, by the Cubans. His stylized visage has become a symbol of rebellion and global insignia in popular culture. A major figure of the Cuban Revolution, he is one of the greatest and most enduring revolutionary figures of all time.
