Kuldip Salil was born in Sialkot in 1938 and later settled in Delhi, where he pursued his Master's in English Literature and Economics from Delhi University. A former Associate Professor of English at Hans Raj College, he is an acclaimed poet and translator. He has published several volumes of poetry and has translated major literary figures including Ghalib, Faiz, and Shakespeare. He has received the Sahitya Akademi Award and other honors for his literary contributions.
