Morris Dickstein (1940 – 2021) was an American literary scholar, cultural historian, professor, essayist, book critic, and public intellectual. He was a distinguished professor emeritus at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. His works include Dancing in the Dark, a cultural history of the Great Depression, and Why Not Say What Happened, a memoir.
