Paulo Coelho

Paulo Coelho, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1947, is one of the most influential writers of our time. Before dedicating himself to literature, he worked as a theater director, actor, lyricist, and journalist. Coelho is the author of 30 international bestsellers, including The Alchemist, Brida, Veronika Decides to Die, and Eleven Minutes. A member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters and a UN Messenger of Peace, Coelho has received 115 international awards, including the Chevalier de l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur.
