UPTU (Uttar Pradesh Technical University), now known as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), conducts exams for admission into various undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses in technical fields like engineering, architecture, management, and pharmacy. The exams are typically held in a centralized manner for UG courses like B. Tech, B. Pharm, B. Arch, and for PG courses like MBA, MCA, M. Tech.
Candidates interested in applying for UPTU exam must ensure that they fulfil the following eligibility criteria for UG (Undergraduate) and PG (Postgraduate) programs.
General criteria applicable for all candidates are as follows -
• Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens
• Age Limit: Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of 31st December of the year of admission

The UPTU exam pattern is different for UG and PG courses.
For UG courses:
The exam will be held in hybrid mode (pen paper and CBT mode). All the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). In total there will be 63 subjects in the exam because of the variety of courses and candidates will be tested in subjects in accordance with the course they have applied for. The duration of the test will be 45 mins for all papers (except for Accountancy, Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Computer Science/ Informatics Practices & General Test which would be 60 minutes).
