100 Influential Women of Pakistan Vol-I

No nation can rise to the height of glory unless their women are side by side with them...It is crime against humanity that our women are shut up with in the four walls of the houses as prisoners. There is no sanction anywhere for the deplorable condition in which our women have to live. (Muhammad Ali Jinnah Father of the Nation)The status of women in Pakistan is one of important topic even though it varies considerably across regions classes and the rural/urban divide due to uneven socioeconomic development and the impact of tribal feudal and capitalist social formations on women's lives. Today Pakistani women enjoy a better status as compared to past. Now in modern Pakistan women have held high offices including that of the Prime Minister Leader of the Opposition Speaker of the National Assembly federal ministers judges and generals in the armed forces. Generally from birth to death 70% women do not need to earn their livings father brother and husband are responsible for their livings protection and honor. There are many influential women in Pakistan which play a dominating role in our country. We would like to discuss some of them in the book.
