1862 Diary of Rebecca Marilla Hine Sackett

Rebecca Marilla Hine Sackett was a young married woman raising her family in western Connecticut during the Civil War after briefly living in Iowa. Married to Henry Eldred Sackett with one living child Clara she began a diary in 1862 writing regularly from January 1 until September 1. This is a transcription of that diary with additional notes to add context to her family friends religion and current events of the time including the Civil War.
