1971: THE VALIANTS

The 1971 Indo-Pak war will be remembered for eons as a life-changing and spectacular moment for the Indian military. They won a decisive victory over Pakistan's armed forces. Their audacious actions not only brought the Pakistani military to its knees, but also resulted in a crushing defeat unprecedented since World War II. The hard-won victory given to the Indian people by our military was made possible by our warriors who fought with utmost dedication and courage while upholding the highest traditions of the Indian Armed Forces. The battles took place on land, in the air, and at sea. In terrain and conditions ranging from desert to jungle to dizzying heights of snow-capped mountains. As a nation, we must remember and honour what all of our warriors have endured and endured in order to provide victory and freedom for the nation. The Comic contains illustrated stories of twelve brave hearts, six Maha Vir Chakra awardees and six Vir Chakra awardees, who took part in operations in both the Eastern and Western theatres during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, culminating in a decisive victory for the Indian Armed Forces over the Pakistan Military.
