1984 & Homage to Catalonia

Nineteen Eighty-Four often referred to as 1984 is a dystopian social science fiction novel by the English novelist George Orwell the novel examines the role of truth and facts within politics and the ways in which they are manipulated. The story takes place in an imagined future the year 1984 when much of the world has fallen victim to perpetual war omnipresent government surveillance historical negationism and propaganda. Homage to Catalonia is George Orwell's memoir of his experience as a volunteer soldier with the Marxist party POUM (Partido Obrero de Unificación Marxista) during the Spanish Civil War. Homage to Catalonia is George Orwell's personal account of his experiences and observations fighting for the POUM militia of the Republican army during the Spanish Civil War.
