The legal system with private law as the core established in ancient Rome has become the cradle of European legal civilization. The difference between the two is that if the Athenian political civilization is the origin of the political system of modern European countries then the Roman legal civilization is the cradle of the legal civilization system of modern European countries. It is the combination of the two that constitutes the rule of law civilization in Europe and the United States.
