Kebra Amhara: A Pillar of our Identity is a book written in the Amharic language (with a final chapter in English that summarizes a significant amount of this book's content) about the history identity and sociopolitical ideology of Ethiopia's Amhara people. The Amhara people are a Semitic-speaking people that founded an Ethio-Israelite Cushito-Semitic kingdom in the Horn of Africa known as the Solomonic dynasty. This dynasty survived until the dissolution of the monarchy in 1974. This book assesses the beginnings ancient identity history development as well as current struggle of the noble Amhara people.
