About The Book

In 1979 Film Weekly began serializing the column Exposing People. Photographer Lu Yuying presented the daily work of film workers in black and white photos: calm serious and dedicated sometimes serious and sometimes relaxed. Each photo was taken by Lu Shi waiting and capturing on set or inviting film workers to special places to use documentary methods for filming; The question of black and white permeates the mental state of the subject and beyond the light shadows the filmmaker presents a true side. Each photo seems to solidify the filmmaker's soul.

By September 1983 over 100 issues of 'Exposed People' had ceased publication and some of the photos had been compiled into the book 'Filmmakers' in 1985 but the print run was extremely low and difficult to find in the public. Now the author has reorganized the photos compiled them for publication and written down her memories and thoughts on each subject. In every word and line it is not only a tribute to a generation of filmmakers but also a tribute to every predecessor. The stories of over 100 filmmakers reshape an era of Hong Kong cinema teaching readers to trace the glorious years of Hong Kong cinema.

1979????????????????????????????????????????????:???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????;?????????????????????????????????????????????????

??1983?9??100??????????????????1985????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????100?????????????????????????????????????
