The study of ethics is not merely a study of morality but an important advance in the direction of our own consciousness. The more we know about what makes us moral or immoral the better our choices will be and the closer we will be to a life of meaning and joy. There is no enlightenment without consciousness and no higher consciousness without an understanding of ethics which must follow an advance in the development of reason. Thus the study of ethics is part of the path to becoming a more capable person in the many areas of life.</span></p><p></p><p><strong style=color: rgba(83 90 98 1); background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)>Full Description</strong><span style=color: rgba(83 90 98 1); background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)>: </span><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>Το θέμα της ηθικής συζητήθηκε από τους αρχαίους φιλοσόφους και συνεχίζει να συζητείται σήμερα διότι αν και αγνοείται από πολλούς διαπερνά τον πυρήνα των αλληλεπιδράσεών μας και είναι παρόν στις επιλογές που κάνουμε και στον τρόπο με τον οποίο αυτές οι επιλογές μας επηρεάζουν. Θα μπορούσαμε ακόμη να πούμε ότι η ηθική είναι το ελληνικό αντίστοιχο της μελέτης της ινδικής έννοιας του ντάρμα ή της κατανόησης της σχέσης μεταξύ των αιτιών της συνείδησης και των αποτελεσμάτων τους. Η μελέτη της ηθικής δεν είναι απλώς μια μελέτη της ηθικής αλλά μια σημαντική πρόοδος προς τη δική μας συνείδηση. Όσο περισσότερα γνωρίζουμε για το τι μας κάνει ηθικούς ή ανήθικους τόσο καλύτερες θα είναι οι επιλογές μας και τόσο πιο κοντά θα είμαστε σε μια ζωή με νόημα και χαρά. Δεν υπάρχει διαφώτιση χωρίς συνείδηση και δεν υπάρχει ανώτερη συνείδηση χωρίς κατανόηση της ηθικής η οποία πρέπει να ακολουθεί την πρόοδο στην ανάπτυξη της λογικής. Επομένως η μελέτη της ηθικής αποτελεί μέρος της πορείας για να γίνουμε πιο ικανά άτομα στους διάφορους τομείς της ζωής.</span></p>
