About The Book
Description
Author
The book is a fictional account of my ten years in RBI. But more than that it is also about my growing up as a teenager in the 1970s in India; how the social economic political and psychological conditions of the time shaped my world view and how I finally landed up in the RBI after experimenting with research and journalism.

It is an attempt to look at RBI from inside. How was it to work at RBI in the 1980s as a young bright and ambitious officer? What were the challenges frustrations joys and sorrows of navigating through in a highly centralized and hierachical organisation governed more by manuals procedures and practices than by thoughtful leaders. Most books on RBI are about its policies or how to get a job in RBI. There are a few books written by former Governors but all of them provide a high level view of their tenures at RBI; there is nothing about the life of officers and staff. with the organisation and it functions.

This book has a strong human side to it. Laced with anecdotal episodes it also deals with the vulnerabilities human needs joys and challenges faced by me during these years. It is also about my crushes shaping of my philosophy of life conditioned by the times I grew up in and how I evolved as a person.
