<p>In 1915 Leon W. Schroeder and his cousin Harwood E. Temple were high school students in St. Paul Minnesota. With a few basic supplies and a little cash the two boys set out on a roundtrip bicycle journey to New York and Boston.&nbsp;</p><p>They left St. Paul on June 28 and returned home on October 8 after pedaling and walking 3627 miles through twelve states. </p><p>65 years later in 1980 Leon Schroeder wrote a detailed description of the entire trip. The 310-page book was typewritten with photos and illustrations pasted in. Twelve signed and numbered hardbound duplicates were made for family members. </p><p>In 2023 one of Leon Schroeder's original typewritten books was digitally photographed to produce this replica.</p><p>In this colorful day-by-day narrative of their bicycle journey Leon and Harwood provide us with a wonderful view of life in the USA in the early 20th Century. </p><p>It was an era of goodwill generosity muddy roads and innocent adventure.</p>
