<p><strong>A heartbreaking find amid secrets and lies.</strong></p><p>After enlisting the help of her sister-in-law in convincing Dotty Keogh's mother to look favourably on Matty as a son-in-law Emma is back on the PS <em>Mary B</em> for the last trip of the season. The crew is looking forward to the summer break and Emma is happy to be spending the journey with her friend Hilda Zeller.</p><p>Until they find Hilda's body in the woodpile and her children alone at their shack.</p><p>With their father nowhere to be found taking the children on board is the only option. But as the journey to Echuca continues tempers begin to fray amidst suspicious accidents and falling river levels. Emma quickly discovers that while even the dead have secrets it's dealing with the secrets of the living that's putting her on edge.</p><p>Daniel is losing patience with the situation and with Emma while she tries to get answers concerned about the children's future as well as the death of their mother. Are they all just tired of one another's company? Or is something more going on? When Emma's concern for the children brings her face to face with Hilda's killer has her understanding of the secret they are keeping come too late?</p>
