A Body Less Perfect

Before I knew better I tried to hide the very thing that gave me individuality and strength. Today I consider cerebral palsy a blessing one that benefited my life in far more ways than it hurt.In this award-winning book the author shares poems revealing life growing up and aging with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Each poem is accompanied by a short note explaining what inspired that poem. Some aspects of life are recalled as good; others with forthright honesty are not. Even with such challenges the author exudes a positive attitude remembering life as more good times than bad. Many people have gone through similar times: If by chance you know one of the 500000 or so Americans with CP share the poems with them. They are the reason they were written. A lifelong disability does not have to be a lesser life as this successful educator and author proves. I am not alone on my journey. I wish for others a life as blessed as mine.Jerry Moorman
