This book present the history of Slavery and forced labour in Mauritius. It tells us how Mauritius was occupied by the Europeans and was converted in to a colony. When slavery was abolished in 1833 the British started a new system called Indentured Labour. The Indian Indentured Labour were brought in Mauritius in 1834. This book presents an overview of the Trade Union movement in Mauritius from its beginning in the 1930s to the present day. It gives a brief description with images and roles played by several people involved.
