A Brief Sketch of the Settlement and Early History of Giles County Tennessee

<p>Opening with the Cherokee Chickasaw and Creek tribes that inhabited areas of the Eastern States and the treaties made between them and the new settlers this publication covers the early history of Giles County Tennessee. Following the organization of the county in November of 1809 this publication covers the settlement and development of several townships documenting their residents society religious influences trades farming and politics. A list of representatives and senators in the legislature of Tennessee as well as a discussion on the origin of land titles are also included in this work along with an index to full names places and subjects.</p><p></p>
