A Child's History of England covers the period of English history from approximately 50 B.C. to around 1669 A.D. with an additional summary of the events leading up to the reign of Queen Victoria. Dickens' skills as a novelist are evident in his description of the key events and personages of English history resulting in a vivid account which enjoyed immense popularity as a serial; it was later published in book form too.
