A Christmas Carol

The novel tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge a wealthy and miserly businessman who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley on Christmas Eve. Marley warns Scrooge that he will be visited by three ghosts - the Ghost of Christmas Past the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come - who will show him the error of his ways and give him a chance to change his life. As the story unfolds Scrooge is taken on a journey through his past present and future and is shown the impact of his selfish and cold-hearted behavior on the people around him. He is moved by the suffering he witnesses and begins to understand the true meaning of Christmas - the importance of love compassion and generosity.
