A Closer Look at Pronunciation Learning Strategies

It is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore theinfluence of the use of learning strategies on secondlanguage proficiency. So far however there has beenlittle discussion about the relationship betweensecond language pronunciation proficiency andpronunciation learning strategy use. In addition noresearch has been found that surveyed therelationship between pronunciation ability and theparticular pronunciation learning strategy use. Themain objectives of the study discussed in this booktherefore were to a) give a detailed picture of thepronunciation learning strategy use of Turkishuniversity students learning English; b) investigatethe relationship between pronunciation ability andpronunciation learning strategy use; and c) examinethe ways a number of other variables may relate topronunciation ability and pronunciation strategy use.This book is expected to be useful to graduatestudents conducting academic research and teachers ofEnglish who have a zest to make use of what researchbrings for their classrooms. Five seperate chaptersfollowing the traditional quantitative researchmethod try to shed more light on the idea ofpronunciation learning strategies.
