A Contrastive Analysis of Stress in English and Kurdish

This book is concerned with a contrastive study of stress in Standard English and Kurdish. Differences in the placement of primary stress in English words and its shifts in connected speech are expected to pose problems for the Kurdish learners of English particularly because in English stress seems to be subject to no rules. It is restricted to an area if not to a certain syllable in Kurdish.
