A course of Fundamentals of Energy Sources and Power Plants

This book covers the primary energy sources; including nuclear energy fossil energy and renewable sources like wind solar geothermal and hydropower etc. and their conversion to power. This book is directed towards two types of readers. First it is intended for the use as a textbook for students in a liberal education course in science and engineering majors. The technical level of presentation assumes no background in chemistry or physics on the part of the reader and no science prerequisites or prior preparation are of concern. At the same time elementary equations and formulae are included particularly in relation to interconver¬sion of energy resources their utilization efficiency of the power plant unit and energy conversion etc. for the benefit of the student with a more than passing interest. Second it is intended for the use as a reference book for teachers of science and engineering majors in the high schools diploma and engineering colleges. The information presented in this book is soundly based in science of energy sources conversion to the power with the easiest way of explanation and self-explanatory line diagrams and in most cases the data presented are up-to-date as of the date of this writing. This book is solely dedicated to the readers and their suggestions and comments for constant improvement of the book and quality service to needy scholar are welcomed.
