This book is a collection of forty poems- forty being a biblical number. A quote from scripture introduces each poem from which the work gets its inspiration. Biblical imagery is used throughout. In The Trellis a grandmother and a granddaughter share the faith (blood-related not once but twice...thanks be to a sacrifice.) Jesus is the Living Water in a poem about a Roman aqueduct (Je Crois I Believe). The friendship between a knight and his squire is a smooth gold coin in the poem Thoughts on Cervantes' Don Quijote de la Mancha. While the themes are varied they all point to Jesus Christ and the Gospel.
