Over the past 35 years Drausin Wulsin has engaged in various land-based endeavors on a family farm in Pike County Ohio. The initial enterprise was creating the first seasonal grass-based dairy in Ohio on 300 acres. The next involved establishing a wetland mitigation bank on 215 acres. The third was developing a grass-based meat business featuring beef sheep laying hens broilers turkeys hogs and a certified commercial kitchen. He weaves together colorful accounts of these journeys in four volumes of A Farmer's Almanac illustrating the vicissitudes and wonder of life on the land. Volume IV anticipates the return of this land to its mythic past as it points toward becoming the largest restored wetland complex in southern Ohio. The volume concludes with reflections on the challenges and promising opportunities before artisanal agriculture.
