A Ghost Chases the Horizon explores the relationship between time and spirit through the lens of the community surrounding the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. The hospital went by many names during its operation and its troubled history is retold from the memory held by its thick limestone walls.</p><p></p><p><strong>Weston Hospital 1999</strong> After a paranormal encounter an urban spelunker blackmails a disgraced local law enforcement officer into allowing her to continue investigating the shuttered facility. What the young adult finds is a kinship that transcends time.</p><p></p><p><strong>West Virginia Hospital for the Insane 1905</strong> A falsely-committed widow births a child sired by her doctor. As the doctor's hostility grows when his paternity becomes apparent the widow plots her freedom with help from a patient with dubious intent.</p><p></p><p><strong>Weston State Hospital 1935</strong> A cantankerous farmer self-commits after an incident in a funeral parlor. While awaiting evaluation in the overcrowded facility he develops delusions that the hospital must be razed on order of the U.S. President.</p><p></p><p><strong>Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum 2019 and beyond</strong> An adrift divorcee works to uncover the truth behind a nineteenth-century serial killer for a friend's manuscript. The more he puzzles together the hospital's mysteries the more his sanity is consumed by the task.</p>
