A Guide to Mark

This book will introduce you to the oldest gospel in the New Testament the Gospel according to Mark. In addition to a look at the ways in which we currently study the Gospels this book will comment on each of the passages in the Gospel of Mark. The final chapter of this book considers the Gospel of Mark as a whole namely its characteristic ways of presenting Jesus and the apostles; the meaning of miracles; echoes of the Old Testament prophets Elijah and Elisha; the relationships among the Gospels of Mark Matthew and Luke; and Mark's strong criticism of the early church.
