A guided journey through non-interactive automatic story generation

It''s not exactly true that computer programs can''t be creative. Computational Creativity is an AI field almost as old as Artificial Intelligence. In particular since the 1960s computer programs that automatically generate stories have been created. This book is a guided story of automatic non-interactive story generation by computer programs relying on artificial intelligence techniques. The book shows that the next step in this effort is to do it intentionally: now that AI programs can write stories on their own they have to do it because they want to.
