E.C. the old groundskeeper and tennis teacher is like a secretary recording his wishes ideas reflections observations and prayers as he goes about his rounds of going to church to work to teaching tennis to playing tennis and visiting his friends. He thinks that God and life bring certain ideas and people through our lives for a reason. The ideas help E.C. figure out what is important for him and they help give him a direction.
