And yet they are still oppressed today discriminated against  and face a lack of opportunity because of their economic status. It can sometimes be a life sentence of injustice and inequality to be born as a girl. Its hard for girls and women in all aspects of their lives to avoid experiencing some kind of discrimination throughout their life. As a general rule women’s educational achievement is not always equivalent to that of men and as a result these gaps result in even greater inequality. Literate women are more inclined to have healthy well-nourished and educated children and more likely to have financially successful paying jobs. This validates the proverb Educate a boy and you educate an individual. Educate a girl and you educate a community.  I believe it is time we finally stop denying that we are inhibiting our own growth and advancement in obstructing women from reaching their full potential.
