A Kenyan poetic and an African women's approach to the song of songs

The Author uses Kenyan poetry and African Women’s Theologies to read the Song of Songs for the dignity of human sexuality. She explores one of the most central aspect of human existence – the concept of human sexuality to enable the readers envision Eros as flavoring human life hence presenting human sexuality as the masterpiece of God’s creation that should be celebrated beyond utility value. In the book one sees that steering conversations on matters Eros can go a long way in addressing societal injustices such as sexual violence that thrive in the context of muted voices. By naming exposing and criticizing the negative presentation of human sexuality hidden in taboos culture and patriarchal ideologies the author shows that human sexuality is not a non-issue.
