Whether it is real or not this is an incredibly clear account of a murder and all the procedures that came before the killer was found. For legal students who are interested in the topic of circumstantial evidence this is a great book. Without any of the typical detective story tricks this is a really skillfully told story. A joy to read even today 100 years later. Without using stereotypical characters A Master Hand is a mystery book that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It describes a man who was discovered dead after spending the evening playing cards with four companions. He is not the guilty party according to a detective the detectives assistant and an attorney who are all committed to finding the real murderer. Its a fantastic tale with a peculiar conclusion.
