A Petal at a Time

<p>The poems in this first fresh collection called <I>A Petal at a Time</I> come in a variety of moods and modes. They have been inspired by emotions incidents and places that the poet Preety Sengupta has travelled to. And they are written in different styles-from prosodic meters to free verse formats. The sprinkling of names from her background in India gives some of the poems a pleasing intonation and her penchant for the English spelling is charming. Her poems have appeared in <I>Skylark</I> <I>The Poet</I> <I>PEN magazine</I> <I>Indian Literature</I> etc. and her poem Missing was included in the Internet archives after the 9/11 tragedy.</p>
