A Princess of Mars

<p><em>A Princess of Mars</em> by Edgar Rice Burroughs is a science fiction adventure novel about John Carter a Confederate veteran who mysteriously finds himself transported to Mars (called Barsoom) where he gains superhuman strength due to the planet's lower gravity.</p><p>On Mars Carter becomes embroiled in the conflicts between its various inhabitants including the fierce Green Martians and the more human-like Red Martians.
