A Reading of Literary Space in Contemporary Fiction

About The Book

Literature (in)tends to add to your problems. It hosts organisms ready to dismantle the structure of meaning or to cause disorder and malfunction in the disposition of its building blocks. The author in due turn supersedes the heartless critics to either deliberately or unwittingly heighten the respiration morbidity of central insight in its work. Paradoxically however the tendency to inflict injuries on the coherence of meaning structure in the text might serve as a means to the survival of artwork. That is to say the emergence of residual in the text customizes the balance of power in favor of new developments and protects the work against decadence and dissipation. In the same way the collected articles in this book seek to show that the creator of a literary piece and the words thereof are simultaneously the suppliers and destroyers of life in/of the work. This book is a collection of four articles three of which re-view the significance of space in the works of Jhumpa Lahiri and Paul Auster from cultural and linguistic standpoints and the last one concentrates on the concepts of ‘author and authorship’ to question the canon and convention of authority.
