A Rebel in Amber

Insular Braeburn may seem like a safe haven after a shocking act of violence but when Roddie Malcolm brings her sister home she is surprised to find that Rowan and the attention she brings to the town aren't welcome. An ER doctor moonlighting at an abortion clinic Rowan just wants to go home after a bullet kills her lover. As incidents of petty harassment and vandalism escalate Roddie finds she has also been marked as undesirable by the vigilantes at work cleansing their community of eyesores. Braeburn has secrets but so does Roddie whose violent lover helps her resist those who want the strong-willed Malcolm women purged.
