A Rendering of Soliloquies

<p><strong><em>A Rendering of Soliloquies - Poetry for Figures Painted in Spots of Time </em></strong>is an artistic interpretation of the observations between artist model and memory through an emblematic juxtaposition of verse and images. Lavishly embellished with detailed black and white figurative drawings and color reproductions of paintings Janet Kozachek's book spans three decades of studying listening to and rendering the people who posed for her. Over time models become heros and anti-heros integrated with figures from art and literary history. Through imagination the ordinary eventually becomes the stuff of myth and legend.</p><p><br></p><p>The reader is invited on a journey through the five chapters of <em>Plagues</em> <em>Gaming Songs</em> <em>Journeys</em> <em>Celestial Beings and Lesser Gods</em> and <em>The Mysteries</em>. The poetry in each of these chapters is juxtaposed with color plates and drawings of figures from observed remembered or conjured.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
