A Roof Against the Rain

This Is A Story About How One Large Family Lived Through The Years Of \The Great Depression\ From 1930 To 1943. It Is Seen Primarily Through The Eyes Of One Of The Younger Children Marcie Who Is Five When The Story Begins In Her Last Year Of High School When It Ends. It Describes Their First Years In New Mexico Their Journey In Search Of Land In Arkansas Their Return To The Cotton Patch In Texas And Finally Their Move To The Little Town Of Bernalillo New Mexico. As MarcieS World Opens Up She Tries At First To Adjust And Conform To It But Eventually Decides To Accept Herself And Her Family Just The Way They Are.
