And Timmy discovers his family has been feeding something beneath the soil for generations making blood offerings twice a year to keep three hundred and forty-seven starving dead from rising.</p><p>His father's journal reveals the terrible truth: the Duggan bloodline is bound to the land by an ancient curse. Resist and the transformation begins. Black marks spread across Timmy's skin like roots. His fingernails fall out replaced by claws.
