A Secure Monitoring System for Cardiovascular Implants Using Internet of Things (IoT) Technology

The rapid evolution of Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud computing technologies presents transformative opportunities for developing advanced health monitoring systems. This book reviews a foundational system architecture designed to facilitate real-time low-cost and secure patient monitoring particularly suited for widespread deployment in the wake of global health challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. With the surge in wearable devices and remote healthcare platforms there is a growing imperative to shift from traditional diagnostic tools-such as stethoscopes and sphygmomanometers-to integrated digital health solutions. The study highlights the critical need for home-based systems that can support remote diagnosis and ongoing care especially in resource-limited environments. While some groundwork has been laid by healthcare providers the simultaneous application of IoT and Cloud technologies for medical emergencies in developing countries remains largely unexplored. This research underscores the urgency of addressing infrastructural limitations and cost barriers through innovative mobile health applications offering a sustainable model for future healthcare delivery.
