A Statistical Description of Electrical Transport in Disordered System

About The Book

Over the last few years there has been extensive research work in the conduction mechanisms in various disordered systems. This book attempts to provide statistical descriptions of the conduction processes in various amorphous systems which are intrinsically characterized by the presence of randomness. This brings out automatically the scaling features existing among the experimentally observed conduction data. Besides the scaling plot also helps one to identify any common feature between seemingly different systems. The first part of the book discusses the relevant theoretical background related to the conduction processes in disordered systems. The second part concerns about the analysis of the experimental non-linear conduction in three different types of disordered systems. Depending on frequency or temperature the electrical conduction in these systems may change from being linear to nonlinear when subjected to sufficiently large bias. This book is suitable for Graduate Students Condensed Matter Researchers and Material Scientists. We have included few sets of problems for the graduate students including some basic problems in many body physics and condensed matter physics
