This study examines the current state of Albanian Organised Crime from an International Relations perspective focusing mainly on its transnational aspect; it also argues that an inherited lack of a well established state and a poor and mistrusted institutional apparatus have served as fertile grounds for the cultivation and export of Organised Crime. As a result of a solid structure and highly secretive organisation Albanian Organised Crime will continue to constitute an international concern and a threat to state sovereignty and security in the Balkan region in Europe and indeed beyond - unless it is tackled at all levels of its hierarchy.
