A study on placental thickness and gestational age

Ultrasound has made practice of Obstetrics easier. Sonologists are on the look out for newer measurements to improve the accuracy of gestational age measurement.This book explores the possibility of using placental thickness as a new biometric parameter. This is based on a study comparing the placental thickness at different periods of gestation. This study has shown a linear relation between placental thickness at the site of cord insertion and gestational age.
