In India the water Buffalo considered as “Black Gold” is a vital rural economy driver for self-employment The world buffalo population is 198.88 million spreading across 42 countries of which 55% is in India. The Foot & Mouth Disease control programme (FMDCP) initiated by Government in 2004 and Disease Free Zones (DFZ) 2016 are being monitored by OIE. The success of integrated model of Scientific Buffalo management for demand and supply of quality milk and meat at a competitive price led to the White & Pink revolution in India. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India notified science based standards to ensure safe and wholesome food for human consumption. The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority regulates standards and specifications for export of Meat products. All India Buffalo & Sheep Meat Exporters Association (AIMLEA) has been mentoring for Buffalo meat exports vis-à-vis the Government policies Allana group having pioneered meat exports from India and continuing to lead the Frozen Halal Buffalo meat & meat products exports to 63 countries with unblemished track record for 46 years.
