Hitherto most of the books written on translation studies tend to be oriented towards the theory rather than the practice of the subject. This book is an intellectual attempt designed to strike a balance between the theory and practice of translation. Hence it deals with the following facets of the subject: theoretical and methodological reflections on translation linguistic and cultural problems of translation translation typology (literary pragmatic and scientific/technical translation. Another interesting thing about the book is that it deals with the subject of translation studies from an African perspective especially by drawing ample translation examples from three African indigenous languages in addition to English and French.
