A Translation of the Idylls of Theocritus

Originally published in 1947 this book contains the English translation of twenty eight idylls and twenty three epigrams originally attributed to Theocritus. Trevelyan begins each idyll with a short synopsis and a brief introduction concerning the history behind each poem and its influence in later Greek and Latin poetry.
