Aadhavan Sirukathaigal

கே.எஸ். சுந்தரம் என்கிற இயற்பெயர் கொண்ட ஆதவன் 1942-ம் வருடம் கல்லிடைக்குறிச்சியில் பிறந்தவர். அறுபதுகளில் எழுதத் தொடங்கி மிகக் குறுகிய காலத்தில் தமிழ்ப்படைப்புலகில் பல குறிப்பிடத்தகுந்த சாதனைகளை நிகழ்த்தியவர். இந்திய ரயில்வேயில் முதலில் பணியிலிருந்த ஆதவன் ஏழாண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு 1975-ம் வருடம் நேஷனல் புக் டிரஸ்டின் தமிழ்ப்பிரிவின் துணை ஆசிரியராகப் பொறுப்பேற்றார். 1976-ல் திருமணம். மனைவி திருமதி ஹேமா சுந்தரம். ஆதவனுக்கு சாருமதி நீரஜா என்று இரண்டு பெண் குழந்தைகள். ஆதவனின் பல படைப்புகள் இந்திய மொழிகளிலும் உலக மொழிகளிலும் மொழிபெயர்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. நண்பருடன் சிருங்கேரிக்குச் சென்றவர் எதிர்பாராவிதமாக ஆற்றில் அடித்துச் செல்லப்பட்டு இறந்த போது ஆதவனின் வயது 45 தான். Adavan whose real name was K.S.Sundaram was born in Kallidaikurichi in 1942. He began writing in the sixties and within a very short span he had many remarkable achievements in the Tamil creative world. Having worked in the Inian Railways at first he took charge after seven years as Assistant Editor of National Book Trust in 1975. Adavan married Miss. Hema Sundaram in 1976 and had two daughters Charumati and Neeraja. Many of his writings have been translated into many Indian and world languages. Having gone to Sringeri with friends he was swept away by the flooding waters of the river there. He was 45 when he met his end.
