Aadhi Raat ka Sooraj

<p>This collection of poems by Ejaz Farooqi (Midnight Sun) is a fine example of the uniqueness of modern poetry. The tone of these poems is completely different from the popular tone of Urdu poetry that was adopted for the specific taste and entertainment of the masses. Ejaz Farooqi did not even establish that specific distance between himself and the reader that divides them into two separate personalities. In fact Ejaz Farooqi has repeatedly immersed himself in a state of self-knowledge and refined his creative process. As a result such symbols and subtle feelings have emerged from which the figures of these poems have been composed.</p><p>/</p><p>اعجاز فاروقی کی نظموں کا یہ مجموعہ (آدھی رات کا سورج) جدید نظم کی انفرادیت کی ایک عمدہ مثال ہے۔ ان نظموں کا لہجہ اردو نظم کے اس مقبول عام لہجے سے قطعاً مختلف ہے جو عوام کے مخصوص ذوق اور تفریح کے لیے اختیار کیا گیا تھا۔ اعجاز فاروقی نے اپنے اور قاری کے درمیان وہ مخصوص فاصلہ بھی قائم نہیں کیا جو انہیں دو الگ الگ شخصیتوں میں بانٹ دیتا ہے۔ اعجاز فاروقی نے دراصل بار بار خودشناسی کی کیفیت میں ڈوب کر اپنے تخلیقی عمل کا نکھارا ہے۔ جس کے نتیجے میں ایسی علامات اور لطیف احساسات سامنے آئے جن سے ان نظموں کے پیکر مرتب ہوتے چلے گئے ہیں۔</p>
