Acaricides resistance status of bovine tick in coastal area of Gujarat

The potential risk factors for tick prevalence in the cattle and buffaloes were: type age and body condition of the animals (host associated) season and managemental practices (environment associated). Area-wise acaricides resistance detection study is essentially required to develop long term control measures against the ticks. The present study involving coastal districts of south Gujarat observed varying level of resistance in deltamethrin cypermethrin and fipronil this information must be utilized while instituting treatment and control strategy against the bovine’s ticks in South Gujarat.
